Hi,

Your motherboard is a MSI and is able to use i3/i5/i7 processors:
With a LGA 1156 (Socket H) The available CPU's for a LGA 1156 socket are:
http://www.msi.com/product/mb/P55M-GD41.html#/?div=CPUSupport

Also a comparison chart: http://processors.findthebest.com/d/p/LGA-.-1156

Hope this helps

Cheers

I would like to point out that he is not talking about PC in his spec but about laptop in his post.

I don't think there is good way to upgrade that laptops CPU its old and not worth the risk.
usually it's not so easy to upgrade laptop CPU as it is with desktop. this model is quite old so it would be hard to get compatible CPU. T5250 uses PPGA478 socket. there is confusion with socket P and Socket M so you need to be careful if you decide to search for CPU, and you need to make sure that your laptop will support it.

I would call HP directly to see what your options are.

As mentioned a cpu in a laptop is not something you would normally upgrade, but I`m sure it can be done.
