Windows 7 boots VERY slowly. It was a very slow install and it boots up extremely slow. I'm talking a good 15-16 mins before I reach the desktop. I went from XP to Windows 7. Any ideas? | My System Specs |

Did you UPGRADE instead of a clean install? That could be your problem, because your system specs shouldn't have any issues booting. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Freelancer852 - The-Tank OS Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit & Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (Build 7600) CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 3.1GHz Motherboard ASUS Striker Extreme Memory 8GB Corsair XMS2-8500D Dominator TWIN2X DDR2 (4 x 2GB) Graphics Card 2x eVGA GeForce GTX 285 1GB's in SLI Sound Card Integrated Sound Card Monitor(s) Displays 2x 24" Samsung SyncMaster 245B's and a 24" SyncMaster 2443BW Screen Resolution 5760x1200 Keyboard Saitek Eclipse Mouse Logitech MX Revolution PSU Corsair HX1000 Watt PSU Case Cooler Master CM 690 Cooling Thermalright Ultra 120 2 x Push/Pull 120mm | 5 x 120mm Case Hard Drives 2x 500GB SEAGATE ST3500640AS's

Should work, however, bad idea. It seem that quite a few people have had the same problem (not sure why). A clean install from XP to seven is truly the best way to go. If you are going to buy a new copy of Win 7 it would be a good idea (unless you just want to fool around) to wait until you have the Win 7 version that is going to suit you later down the line. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion a4302f OS Win 7 Pro x64, VM Win XP, Win7 Pro Sandbox, Kubuntu 11 CPU AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 640 @ 3.0 Gbz Memory 12GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB, 2x2GB Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 4350 HD Graphics/Audio with 512MB Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays 1. Where about is this delay occurring?
During BIOS or while Windows is actually loading?
Try unplugging any USB devices like storage drives etc
If you have an Anti Virus installed, check that it's not doing a full system scan at each start up. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Computers by SmartEyeball OS 8 Pro x64 CPU i7 3770K 4.6GHz Motherboard ASUS P8Z77 WS Memory 16GB G.Skill Trident X 2400mhz Graphics Card 3x Gigabyte GTX 670 OC WindForce *TRI SLI* Sound Card ALC898 / 5.1 receiver/ ATH-AD900 Headphones Monitor(s) Displays x3 Dell U2410 / 58" Samsung / "40 Sony Screen Resolution 5760*1200/ 1920*1200 / 1920*1080 Keyboard Topre Realforce // Ducky Shine MX Black // Filco Ninja TKL Mouse Razer Imperator + Thermaltake Theron PSU Corsair AX1200W Case Thermaltake Level 10 GT Snow Edition Cooling Noctua NH-D14 Hard Drives 2x Intel 520 240GB (RAID 0) * 2x WD Caviar Blacks 2TB (RAID 0) * 2TB WD Caviar Black Antivirus MSE Browser IE, FF Other Info GT Extreme V2 Sim Racing Cockpit + 40" LCD and K/B Mouse stand ▼
