Well I am stuck with just picking out a CPU, I dunno which is better for gaming, is it more cores, higher cache, or higher operating freq.?
    Here are some I found:
    Newegg.ca - AMD FX-6350 Vishera 3.9GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor FD6350FRHKBOX
    Newegg.ca - AMD FX-6100 Zambezi 3.3GHz Socket AM3+ 95W Six-Core Desktop Processor FD6100WMGUSBX
    Newegg.ca - AMD FX-4350 Vishera 4.2GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Quad-Core Desktop Processor FD4350FRHKBOX

I am also maybe going with a AM3 or AM3+ Mobo

I'm not an AMD guy, so someone more knowledgeable may step in, but if you are building an AMD rig, there is really no reason NOT to get the FX-8350 @ $199. Top of the line and just a few more bucks than some of the other processors.

    I agree, the FX-8350 is a bear.

Keep an eye out for sales.

    Bought mine here:

Have seen it on newegg.com for $10. less at times.

I'm not a gamer, so I really shouldn't be commenting. But the OP said gaming is important.

The Sapphire HD6450's claim to fame is that it is (a) fanless, and thus 100% silent, (b) uses low power, and thus does not even require a PCIe power connection, and (c) is HDCP compatible so that it works perfectly for HDTV setups. It also has twice the shaders than the previous model HD5450. And it's also dirt cheap.

All in all, it is a TERRIFIC VALUE if you are building a standard machine for friends or family, and just plan to use the machine for relatively ordinary purposes. Works great, 100% silent, very low-power usage, ideal for an HTPC for example. I've installed three HD5450's and two HD6450's in machines I've built or upgraded for other people, and love them... but the end user is not a gamer.

But it is a VERY LOW-PERFORMANCE video card. It produces a WEI graphics performance value of about 3.9, or maybe 4.1. This is contrasted with true high-performance video cards that measure 7.3 or much higher.

I would think this makes it not a very good choice for a gaming rig. I would think a video card that is HD5770 or higher (e.g. HD6* - HD9*) would be more appropriate. But these also have much higher power supply requirements, have fans and thus at least some noise, and are much more expensive.

But again... what do I know?

I don't game either. I bought that card cause it was ON SALE with a $10 rebate. I am always buying extra computer parts when they are ON SALE at NewEgg, especially with rebates

So is the 8350 good on performance for gaming? Would it run the latest games with no problems? Is it a high end or mid end?

I honestly never thought I would see the day people recommending AMD over Intel for the price point and calling it a Boss chip Very Beautiful I love it

AMD is starting to win some Hearts
