The M12II and the CX600M have about €3 price difference here in the Netherlands, haha. If you know any cheaper modular PSUs send them my way please.

The fact that they have such a small price difference is precisely why the CX600M is a rip-off. It's a low-quality unit, only capable of its rated wattage up to an internal temperature of 30°C, and it has low-quality Chinese capacitors that are rated for only 85°C. The 520W SeaSonic M12II is much better: it can deliver its rated wattage up to an internal temperature of 50°C, and it has high-quality Japanese capacitors rated for 105°C. Both are modular, one is a good PSU, the other is a joke (at that price). If it were about 30 or 40 and if there's no way in hell you could afford any more than that, then it might be worth considering.

I sincerely and seriously recommend avoiding all of Corsair's CX series unless you find one at a ridiculously low price. The same goes for their VS series which is an even worse series of PSUs.

Corsair just aren't what they used to be.

So yes, it's a rip-off. Corsair is just using the reputation they built up to enable them to get away with selling these crappy PSUs at prices that are higher than they should be for maximum profit. I'm tellin' ya, I'm really beginning to hate Corsair's PSU department. They should have quit while they were ahead.

Okay, I'm going to get the Seasonic if the budget allows me - if it doesn't I'll switch back to the CX600M. Thanks for nice elaborated explanation.

EDIT: Got the M12II 520W instead because it's €3 cheaper than the CX600M anyway, sweet!

The SeaSonic PSU is a mile better than the Corsair PSU......good job listening lol!

Yeah, that's what I mean: the CX600M is a huge rip-off.

Did you already order the M12II? I still want to help with possibly finding an even better modular PSU in this price range.

Nope, will be ordering on the 4th of July (hence I'm waiting for the GTX 760 with some reviews to go with it)

Aw man, there aren't any that are better unless you spend more than €60. Although, I'm not surprised either.

I noticed that you began viewing this thread after I posted, so you might miss this next part if I simply added it to my last post:

If you can afford about €15 more, then you could get something that's a lot better than the 520W SeaSonic M12II: it's the 450W SeaSonic G Series for €73.95.

This isn't to say that there's anything wrong with the M12II, but the G Series is even better. It's a high-end series of PSUs.

So much fuss about PSUs. Sorry I'm already kind of on expenses limit right now so I hope the M2II won't fail me. Thanks for helping out, though!

It won't (it is a very solid PSU), but I just wanted to make sure.
