If your bluetooth adapter is usb drive then in device mngr if you pull it up and unplug the device you'll see which one it is. Then you can put it back in and click on it and uninstall the driver but without a driver cd for that adapter upon reboot windows will just install the generic driver again. If you have the cd then after uninstall put the cd in and click search for driver and point it to the drive with the cd in it. load it as administrator and the software application (since a lot of these devices use the application for pairing) and see if it will pair.
