Front mic panel problem, says its unplugged

Ok im at wits end! Im pretty sure i got this to work before. But i forgot how to do it. My front mic panel doesnt work ive spent hours trying to find the solution but failed

The front panel used to work before so im sure it shouldnt be a hardware issue. About six months ago i was tweeking the settings and somehow managed to make the back panel the default, but that disabled the front port, i didnt care at the time coz i didnt need it. I want my speakers hooked up to the back panel while my headset and mic to be hooked up to the front panels. My problem is that it keeps telling me that the mic is not plugged in even though it is, and yes the mic and earphones are plugged in the right place. Any tips on what i need to do? Ive already reinstalled the motherboard OS if that helps.

This is a pic of my recording settings.

Edit: Also the front earphone slot works, its just the mic that doesnt seem to work.

Anyone have any ideas? Im pretty sure this is just a windows setting that i changed back in the day but just forgot what i did. I just need the front mic panel enabled so that both the mic and the earphones are plugged in there.
