Laptop keyboard certain keys not functioning properly at times

I've had this strange problem since couple of weeks. Some days certain alphabet keys stop functioning properly, I have to hit it hard to get them to work while after a while of hard hitting keys, it starts functioning properly & I've seen this happening to Space Bar too. Currently, I've issue with Space Bar alone. I've to hard hit space bar or hit it multiple times to get it functioning.

At times I've noted the prob shifts to other some other key the next day or it doesn't have any prob at all. Its been all strange

I would like to know what might be the reason for this odd behavior ? Do u think laptop getting hot might be a reason for that or working for longer hours ? I've Laptop Cooler always on, never turn it off.

I'm using Dell Vostro 1015. Its more than 2yrs old now, never had to take it to any computer shop for repairs or maintenance so far. Never formatted or restored or reloaded OS either.

The only probs I'd so far are with mouse. I've changed 2 mouses already, I prefer using external mouse piece.

    Hi goodlad,

You should try an external keyboard with the system. If external keyboard works fine then you should consider replacing the internal keyboard.

As due to usage and time keys stops responding. However if the similar issue occurs with the external keyboard then it might be a software related issue.

Please check the same and let us know if you require further assistance.
