    I'll Comment

I want to load Win 7 onto it. I'll need to read up because if I wipe the OS I don't know what the SSD's will be like they are in a raid config. I guess I will end up loading on to one SSD and then config a raid pair.

    Recieved

Ok, I am checking the new lappie out. MS's junk evaluator rates it at 7.0. Everything is 7.8 except Graphics. Am considering installing Win7, but Win8.1 release is not far off. This machine has two ssd's in a raid config. So I have looked up a driver for the install.

I need to check out the bios. Really runs nice. To bad about Win8. Is there a tutorial on burning a install disk with all of the updates on it? It would be nice to skip all of that after loading.

    Downgraded

Couldn't take Win 8 any longer. Downgraded to Win 7 Pro. Most things are working. Only have one problem in Driver Manager (unknown device) which I believe is the Web Cam. Having no luck finding a driver. Loaded one from MS. The unknown device went away and I have an imaging device, which is working? I must be missing some software because I can't get it to function.

FWIW Hammerhead I personally would not recommend Toshiba's I have had some real bad experiences over the last four years and have had that many fixes in too. The only real good thing you can do with a Toshiba is to plonk an SSD (plus a decent amount of RAM) into it and an OEM of whatever OS you want.
I don't know why this is probably because of the fact that they are not made in japan anymore because they sued to be the laptop of my choice.

I don't go that much on Acer for that matter either. Samsung, Asus, Sony, HP, Compaq (basically an HP) and Lenovo would be the ones I would choose.

Now I must admit I didn't read from the beginning but for general use the HP G6 is good value HP Pavilion g6-2331tx Notebook PC (D9G69PA) | HP® Australia

    Cam Driver

I just picked a MS "generic" driver and loaded it. It put an imaging device in my device manager and then I found a software called Video Booth an Walla it started working. Video Booth is a piece of crap I need to look around and find another freebie. It came with the Ask toolbar and has a nag screen. But I made some progress. Right now I am not aware of anything screwed up after downgrading. Machine really works nice. Oh yeah, I need to look into my raid config. I'll post a clip of my disk manager.

    Raid Problem?

When I boot I get the screen to configure Raid. It shows I have a pair of disks in a zero configuration (striped). which is what I want. When I look at the disks in disk manager they look funny to me. Is this what you should see?

Just get rid of the Askbar HH it is a piece of crap as far as I am concerned. If you find it hard to get rid of with the Cont Panel then it is done easy through regedit.:)

    Disk Manager

The clip was showing the disks correctly. I had to work on them with a (Easeus) partition software. I finally got them straightened up.
All in all I am satisfied with the MSI laptop. It really runs nice. Down grading to Win 7 Pro x64 was a boat load of work. But, every driver for win 7 was available I just had to find and load them. I have one unknown device in device manager. It's a radio switch that there is no driver for. It turns out it is not needed. Once again this laptop preforms really well.
