Is there a way to make Win7 take advatage of my Ram?

I have 8gb of ram in my machine, however, even when I game, I do not see the used memory go above 4.2gb and it never goes above 2gb for every day use. This got me to thinking.. Do I even need this extra ram, and now that I have it, is there a way to cause Windows to go ahead and use it? Is this even desire-able.. Your thoughts appreciated..

MAke your page file almost zero. (500mb) or eliminate it all together like I did. It makes a noticible difference. Its not gonna turn you into a rocket but shave seconds off things
