Laptop fan repeatally starting and stoping

My laptop's fan kept on turning off and on after leaving it on for 1-3 hours without using it yesterday. For some reason, when I first booted up this PC today, the fan did not start right away but then, the fan went really fast so I restarted and this time the fan started on bootup. Should I be worried about this?

Could be from heat, try using sleep when not in use.

Hi Computer0304, When did you last clean out the inlet and exhaust ports on the laptop , Dust has an habit for getting into laptops and causing heat issues ,try blowing the ports out with a can of compressed air

OK, I'll try to do that. I have never dusted the fan after getting the laptop.

agree with Pebbly,

take the screws out of the bottom plates, remove and give a good clean out.

laptops always overheat once the dust starts to settle.

whats the laptop make and model?
