    SATA-1 & SATA3 Bios doesn't see SATA-1

    I had a pc with SATA-1 drive installed windows7 64 bit, it was working fine untill I decided to attache the another hard drive SATA-3 with server 2003 loaded on it.
    I wanted to copy some data from SATA-3 and then wipe it off and use as additional storage, But the PC stop booting from windows7 drive and started server 2003.

    I went in bios to change the boot option but the SATA-1 windows7 drive is not listed?
    On startup I get message;

    Serial ATA AHCI BIOS- version iSrc 1.02 04192006
    Controller not set for operating in AHCI mode, AHCI BIOS not installed

    I had updated the BIOS to lateds 1.4 version and it does show it during memory check.
    Do I need to install th AHCI ?
    Would I need to install the windows 7 right from scratch?

    Please guide.
    Thanx

    There is an option in bios Sata Type/Sata controller mode. If it's set to IDE switch it to AHCI.
