    I hope you're referring to the front panel leads. If you want to de-solder the ASUS mobo as asked above.....why?

    This is basically the kind of procedure you would need to do, but its really dangerous and there is no reason unless your buttons don't work and you need to replace them with new ones. but where would you get such parts? and is it worth it? you could destroy your board.

    if they are keeping you up at night, i would get some button stickers to cover them up.

    If I'm understanding this correctly you could just unplug the leads from the motherboard and remove the buttons. It would sure be a PITA to start the computer.

    BigTabs could you give us more information.

    Im realy fed up .......
    I have wd 500gb elements ...driver shows on device manager and even shows on disk management as disk 1 with a deffirent letter as F I changed it as it was G but no data and cant access and doesn't show on my computer it happened diuring transferring data from my computer to the external hard drive but a suddenly shut down due to high tempretur on wd windows diagnostic tool shows as failer lights on its working and its fan ....but.....no data I tride many ways to fix by installing and uninstalling changed the cable but......pls give any seliution not to lose data ....over 270gb data...............
