ATX plug 20+4 other way around?

Hello, i have Ocz zs 650w and 400w psu. The 400w psu atx 24 plug fits perfectly in my motherboard, however when i'm trying to connect ocz zs 650w 20+4 i have to turn the plug around ( Reverse ) to get it to fit in. For my other motherboard ( z77 extreme4 ) i don't have to turn it around. Can wrongly plugged in atx plug make major damage?
The motherboard is Gigabyte M68M-S2P .

DO NOT plug it in wrong way. The plug is keyed to only fit one way. I have an OCZ modular power supply (not the OCZ model you have) and the 24 pin connector is keyed and fits correctly in my Gigabyte motherboard.

plugging the thing the wrong way will damage the board, but it's supposed to accept the plug only if you insert it in the right way.

Can you post a pic of the PSU connectors and mobo socket?
