I am not real sure of what you are saying to me Churin the ref might be two years old mate but it is the current version to be using.
As TVeblen indicated the Passmark was built off of the one that is referenced by me and the one in the tutorial, and has long been outdated and obsolete as far as I am concerned.
Go to the tutorial and click on the memtest link that way you will go straight to the correct one I just wish that Passmark one would go away from the Google search it is very confusing to anyone who is not aware of the thing being of no use.
Correction of my previous post:
"PassMark" should be deleted from the above. I meant the memtest utility being available at memtest.org.Please see the release date on the above website. It is two and half years ago. It was well before the CPU and the chipsets were released. I think this is why the PassMark Memtest86+ v4.20 failed to recognize the RAM and the CPU correctly.
I have an older machine with AMD Phoenom II 970, GA-790XTA-UD4 and DDR3-1333 4GBx4. The Memtest86+ - v4.20 recognizes the CPU and the RAM correctly. The CPU and the motherboard were released well before 1/25/2011.
So the memtest is working mate? It should work for whatever date the machine was made in. If it doesn't I am at a loss as to why cos I have run it on my Sandy Bridge and fixes that have had DDR1 RAM installed.
I just wanted to check if it would work on the old machine and it did. The problem is with the new machine with FX6300. It still runs on it but I can not rely on it because it fails to recognize the CPU and the RAM correctly.
What do you think is wrong using PassMark Memtest86? The latest release is v.4.30 dated 7/10/2013.
Well Churin go ahead mate and run the Passmark as I think you are under the impression that because it has a later release date it is better my friend.
I don't know what else to suggest I use the "old" memtest without any problems but hey perhaps it sorta matches me in age. I am out of ideas of as to why the "old" test will not work on your machine.
I found Memtest86+ v.5.0, run it for over 16 hours and no error reported. It recognized the CPU and the RAM correctly.
Thanks everyone trying to help me.
The iso file I downloaded is mt500.iso and not mt500bx.iso.
I attempted to post the download link but could not because the part of the link url is changed to ********** if previewed. I checked it as is but it did not work. I wonder why typed or copied link does not stay as is when the draft is previewed.
