    upgrading system


    need help
    i have a homebuild pc
    p45 neo motherboard msi
    4gb corsair ddr2 ram
    e8400 dual core cpu
    nvidia grahics card 8400
    1tb seagate sata drive
    windows 7 ultimate

    i want to upgrade the system with the least amount of additional hardware to puchase
    i want to do this upgrade in steps
    so a new motherboard n cpu

    i would like to also install a ssd drive
    but am not familar on how they work

    any suggestions

    You'll want to shop for new mobo, cpu and ram as all will be ddr3 currently and likely smart to upgrade the GPU. Tell us what case and PSU you have and the full spec's of the components.

    Likely use Seagate, W7 Ult., Optical drive(s) and the GPU but you'll want to change it soon. Case and PSU will be critical items as well so tell us about them, even pictures would be helpful.
    Do you see your self overclocking and do you have a preference for AMD or Intel as there are significant cost savings with AMD but Haswell for Intel is out but it's debatable if worthy over discounted Ivybridge chips.
