HP 6820ea - non responsive trackpad and keyboard when running hot

    Hi all,

I've been passed a HP 6820ea laptop to repair which is suffering with the trackpad and keyboard becoming non responsive when running hot or when i use for prolonged periods. I've advised the client to look at a replacement but he wants to keep the laptop running due to accountancy programs on there that he has misplaced the disks/product keys for.

has anyone heard of this issue with this laptop?

I've googled the issue and have seem comments on motherboard failures but nothing on trackpad / keyboard issues.

Just to add the client says that he can resolve the problem by removing the battery? (from a tech point this doesn't seem like a valid comment).

    thanks
