You posted the same link twice. Repost the correct link for the motherboard. Of course it`s worth it, but post the MB link 1st so we can make sure it`s compatible.

I don`t see an FX on that upgrade list, and that board doesn`t say it supports AM3+

It looks like it supports the Phenom 2, so you should be good with that choice.

The 965 would be the best choice I think, the FX is an AM3+ and your board has an AM3 socket.

As others have said the Fx series of processor is not compatible with your motherboard as there is a difference in socket. If you want to keep your current motherboard then the Phenom II will do a good job. If you want to change motherboard just let us know your budget and either myself or someone else can find one suitable.

Edit: I notice that you're running Avast aswell as MSE, You should not run more than 1 antivirus as they will conflict with eachother. I would remove Avast and continue running MSE.

Here are a couple of compatible motherboard's
    $84.99 & FREE Shipping http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-M5A97-R2-...2B+motherboard

    $98.14 http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GA-97.../dp/B0083R9QQG

    $69.99 http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Computer-C...2B+motherboard
