Required device is inaccessible - How can I reboot ?

Can anyone give me some advice on how to reboot my PC after installing driver updates. (WIN 7 PRO 32bit) The problem seems to be that the keyboard driver did not install properly, and on re-starting gave the message "REQUIRED DEVICE is Inaccessible" - consequently I am unable to type any instructions (screen keyboard not set up) and I cannot access the Launch start up repair screen.
Is there any way I can get into my PC to get back to the last restore point and undo the damage ? Any help would be greatly appreciated - an idiots guide would be ideal ! Thanks.

    Hi BobbyE,

    Welcome onboard.

Are you able to get into Safe Mode?

Keep pressing F8 repeatedly as your computer boots.

If it gets into safe mode successfully, in the Advanced Option Menu, select "Last Known Good Configuration (advanced)" and press ENTER.

That should discard the faulty driver and boot with the configuration it booted from successfully last time.

    Bingo ! - reboot ok

    Hi jumanji and ICit2lol,
Many thanks for replying to my post, and I'm happy to report that thanks to your advice ( and a bit of luck) my PC is now back to it's normal self. The original problem was that the driver update did not complete sucessfully, and on reboot the keyboard was not enabled.... I.E anything I typed in, like pressing function keys, had no effect at all. I managed to dig out an old keyboard from the loft and just plugged that in and hoped. After following the steps in your advice .... RESULT !
So, thanks for taking the time to reply, you've cheered up an OAP enormously !
    Best wishes, BobbyE
