How to find the date of a hard drive wipe.

I have an old laptop harddrive that i recently reconnected to my computer, it says that it is empty, but i don't remember reformatting it. Is their any way to see when it was last formatted?

Jemjem just out of curiosity why do you need to know that? If it is empty mate just format it with DISKPART or through Computer > drive > format.

Well mate if it is empty then it must have been wiped only you can tell that mate because if it is empty then there will be no data on it to say when it was wiped or formatted

This is obviously not the only drive in the machine or you would get nothing to start up so that you can see this. In Disk management see if it is truly empty and if anything shows up right click to see what is in there - right click on the drive partition - open and see what is there.

Failing this try running Partition Wizard and click on the drive at very end and then the space and "explore" Best Free Partition Manager Freeware and free partition magic for Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Vista and Windows XP 32 bit & 64 bit. MiniTool Free Partition Manager Software Home Edition.

It appear's there is a recycle bin file in the folder, it was created the date and time that i checked out the hard drive to see if the OS was still on it. So would there be no other way to see the date that the drive was wiped on? It isn't a big deal or anything, just would be nice to know.

Hmm like you say Jemejm it is not really worth worrying about being in a recycle bin it would have had to been put there intentionally. It is a very small drive too now I am curious as to what it is going to be used for?
