No image on monitor?

Alright so, the other day I powered my PC on, the fans started running and everything was fine, but then I looked to the monitor and there was nothing there,I waited for around 10 minutes and finally it turned on, but on the Windows 7 login page, it had been through all the rest when the monitor wasn't displaying anything. This happened for around 2 days until it got worse, the monitor didn't display anything at all, I waited around 1 hour but nothing, so I had to power it off from the button and then tried tapping F8 upon booting up again, after tapping F8 around 5 minutes later it came to the F8 screen and I chose to start windows normally and that worked, everyday I had to do that to get it working until now. I booted it up this morning and tapped F8 a few times and waited for around 30 minutes and nothing happened, I've tried rebooting it a couple of times but still nothing, I don't know what the problem is. I want to get my PC back to normal and actually display the logo etc. on startup, what could be the problem and how can I fix it?

Thank you!
