Hi there folks.. I got it working again.. after the response from this thread it was confirmed that its a hardware issue.. But as i was going to replace it anyway.. thought of giving it a try to fix it myself.. So disconnected and disassembled everything.. slightly and carefully pulled apart the keyboard matrix sheets partially.. and pressed it and put them back again.. and voila.. works like a CHARM.. .. if next time.. you encounter any such issues.. give it a try. you may have to replace it anyways.. but worth a shot.. :)

Well my luck ran out soon.. it stopped working again.. .. So gotta get a new one.. suggest me a good replacement for this logitech y st39.. i looked around and found logitech k200 but lot of people say it doesn't support multi- key press.. in short not suitable for gaming.. i'm looking for wired model with multi-key support and media controls only. durable and low price.. my current one lasted 10 years for me :) i expect something like that. :)

I haven't tried any keyboards except Microsoft mouse and keyboards so I really can't say about other brands.

I'm not a gamer and I have been using this for years with no problems.

@Mohavepc .. That one looks nice and affordable and just what i was looking for. but the thing is that i'm from India and i doubt that brand would be available here. But its on my checklist now. :) As far as my knowledge goes Microsoft, logitech, dell, hp, razor, amkrette, iball, intex, zebronics, and some other brands are available here. so please suggest me the same or similar model in these brands.. :) Thank you.

Since I did not take into account your location I apologize. There is a company that will forward it from new egg to you if your interested. Their fees are nominal for the most part. It might be worth looking into.
Tiger Direct Does ship to India if you contact them directly. This website lists all the countries they ship to.
Logitech Version of the one I listed.
Thermaltake Gaming with a Discount ( I am sure this is last years model)

Beyond that I am afraid my knowledge of keyboards runs out. I have several Logitech keyboards both wired and wireless that have run forever and I know the Thermaltake is a good keyboard as my friend has done nothing but brag about his.
