    Battery weirdness

    Hi

I'm having some weird issues with my battery. No idea why is this or what should I do...

So lets see. I charge it to 100% and disconnect the charger.
Then it starts to drain, but sometimes the indicator does not move at all. It stays on 100% even after 20 mins. Sometimes it moves as usual.

It was doing the same both on Vista and Windows 7 (clean install of both) so that one is not likely a Windows issue. After a reboot the indicator moves, it drops to around 70%. (it's still 21 mins after disconnecting charger)

After a while the computer either hibernates right away (with no warning) or just powers off (as if I removed the battery)
What's even more weird, just a second after the computer powers off, the white LED flashes, which indicates power is back on. Normally this would only happen if I disconnect all power sources (battery and charger) so the computer is completely unpowered.

I tried calibrating the battery using HP's instructions in the Help Guide, but didn't have much luck.
It turns off after a while as expected but I'm able to turn it back on and it runs for another 15 mins...

    What should I do?

I would suspect a dieing battery. Occasionally a complete drain to 5% and recharge, repeated two or three times can restore some life to the battery. You should Google "lap top battery maintenance" lot of good info and some very good battery monitoring software.
