How long ago did you buy this drive? I bought the exact same thing about three months ago and it has the most up-to-date firmware available.

Samsung has a software called Magician Software that you can install and it has a way of checking for the latest firmware.

I just received this one on Tuesday and have installed the magician program. My firmware version now is DXTO8BOQ

I ran the program and it said this is the latest firmware so, I guess it's up to date.

Flashing firmware just to have the lasted version can cause problems. Generally firmware upgrades are for specific problems and if you are not having that specific problem... If the upgrade is for general performance then by all means flash away.
