This or something like it would be outstanding for your OS and some slow to open/regularly opened software:

Newegg.com - Wintec FileMate 3FMS4E064JM-R ExpressCard 34 64GB ExpressCard MLC Internal / External Solid State Drive (SSD)

If you would want an external sound card you could use a express card sound card

Amazon.com : Creative Labs SB0950 ExpressCard Sound Blaster X-Fi Notebook Audio System : Sound Card Laptop : Electronics

Use to be used for wireless cards before laptops got them internally

Must have just happened. Anyway you have either usb 2.0/3.0 or the SSD option to choose from for me it would be a no brainer unless the 64gb size was just too small. I took my spinner out and placed it in an external enclosure then use a 256gb SSD. My express card adds two USB 3.0 but takes another usb 2.0 to add power and it's very temperamental so it doesn't see much action.

oke so to install the usb 3.0 i cant just put it in the slot like you put a cd in a cd drive.. i have to install it and connect a usb 2.0 to it for power? same goes for ssd?

No the SSD draws its power from the express slot only. But the USB 3.0 requires an additional boost from a host 2.0 which is kind of a drag IMHO. With the USB models they have a driver to load as well, no such driver needed for the SSD. I would love to see this express card SSD expanded to 128-256gb and then be adopted by the biggies !
