    Having a little problem


    My USB ports are not reading anything I put into them whenever I plug anything in to one of my 3 USB ports all I get is unknown device no driver install nothing my USB controller also has a yellow triangle next to it i am thinking that is my problem I can't get on the internet to download anything because its a fresh install of windows 7 ultimate from an iso file I burned to disc my laptop is a HP pavilion g7 2269wm I downgraded from windows 8 last time I installed windows 7 my USB ports all worked fine

    Hello and welcome to the forums.

    It's got to be a driver issue, I would head to the HP website and download all the drivers you can for your model, you will need to use another PC for this if you can't access the internet from the laptop and chuck them onto a CD assuming your DVD drive works in the laptop.

    Thanks for your reply my only question is you can burn executable files to a CD never done it that's why I'm asking my CD drive works I'm glad it does never had any problems last time I installed windows 7

    Yeah, just copy the files you download straight into a cd as they are and then chuck them on your desktop on the laptop and run them from there.

    OK cool thanks for your help I'm glad my computer is dual booted Linux comes in handy when having windows issues

    Reaper, I believe the chipset driver carries most of the USB 2.0 drivers. If you have USB 3.0, they will have special drivers. Be sure to get your lan drivers also, so you can get internet connection.

    It might I'm not sure I am planning on adding a second hard drive to my computer when I get paid I found a optical hard drive caddie that replaces my CD drive and has an adapter that plugs in where my CD drive used to can't wait till payday
