first of all, it's 3420!!! i can't edit the topic...

problems with my computer - nothing new...

anyway, i've been having trouble with making my printer work as well - it's an hp 3420...

so, what i've done is i followed some of the instructions - like Installing the Printer With an Alternate Driver in Windows*7 for a USB Cable Connection HP Deskjet 3420 Color Inkjet Printer - HP Customer Care (United States - English) - but it didn't work.

i can't seem to be able to choose a usb or dot4 port under the properties - if it even open the props!

the printer is 'there', but it's just not printing. i tried to remove it, but it didn't wanna do that either, so i ended up restoring the system to a couple of hours back.

i simply don't know what else to try, so if you've got any ideas, please let me know... i'm running win 7 on 32 bit.

i'm kind of a noob, so it might be the smallest thing that i'm overlooking and therefore can't make it work...

thanks in advance & cheers! ;)

mkay, i'm not sure how this happened...

i simply plugged the printer out and then in again, it found the right driver by itself and it started printing a document. it made several pauses (it took like five minutes to print three pages) and popped up auto play for two usb sticks, but once i clicked cancel on the autoplay, i started printing again.

so, i made the working printer (the right one) default, but the other one is still here. i tried to remove it, but as soon as i refresh, it's back on here...

any ideas on how to remove it or should i just leave it like this? :S
