Windows 7: Would Windows 7 have a chance at running on this PC?

Take a look at the system specs in my profile. Can you tell me if (with a few upgrades, like RAM and HDD) this system could run Windows 7?

Hi and welcome to seven forums

Yes. with ram and HD it will run but not with the aero effects. For a bit more on a video card it would. we have ppl running on less. One user is running on a P-II

Hi Brandon, welcome to the SevenForums.

You should read this thread. IMO opinion it won't be easy. Insufficient RAM, out of the date GPU, HD capacity.

I would not even try, but maybe I am too skeptical. Good luck.

I think you'll need 512 mb of ram to install and your current HD will pretty much be full when your done. But Windows7 really surprised me when I installed on my old AMD Athlon 2000+ with 1 GB of ram. Ran better than XP. Here is a thread on some pretty minimal machines: Windows 7 on OLD computers

Like I say, a few cheap upgrades and I should have a Seven capable (only just)
I'm quite happy to get some RAM and a Hard Drive if it means I can run Seven!

Oh, and by the way, I also have a TP-LINK internal wireless adapter. Would that be compatible?

Not knowing the precise model of your T-link, it's hard to say. Here's T-link's driver page, check your model and see if they have drivers for you.

I haven't a clue what model it is, and device manager won't tell me.

All I know is that it's a PCI card and it makes a tiny little arial stick out of my PC.

Go here: SIW | System Information for Windows by Gabriel Topala and download SIW. It should give you more details than you can ever use about your system.
