    Printer cardridge dry.

    Hi.

I have an HP AIO ink printer here.

From the HP solution center I can see, that the ink levels are ok.

But obviously the color cardridge is dry, as the ink will not print.

What does protect the cardridge from drying out when the printer is standbye ?.

What to do with the cardridge to get it to work again ?

This is a common problem with inkjet cartridges. The cartridges have a built in "head" that allow the ink to "spray" out through tiny holes (nozzles) onto the paper. (Sorry for not using highly technical terminology. :)) If the cartridge isn't used for a while the excess ink on the head dries out and clogs the holes. For that reason it's usually recommended that an inkjet printer be used at least once or twice a week.

This article has some tips on how to get that clogged cartridge working again. But be aware that the head is rather delicate and if the head is damaged you'll have to get a new cartridge.
