    Cannot get rid of old HDD

    Hello, I'm CrazyKilla

    Firstly I'm sorry or the bad title, but I could not summarise it in any other way.

    I have 2 HDDs in my build at the moment, a old 150gb one and a new 2tb one.
    I have windows installed on the old one, and on the new one;
    The new HDD is split into two, X: and Z:, Z is for windows and programs and X is for games and other crap.
    My old HDD is C:, this is where I had windows installed previously, then I installed windows on Z: and now I Have windows on both HDDs, the problem is that I use windows on the new HDD but if I unplug the old HDD windows doesn't boot, which I am guessing that this means that my PC is using windows on Z but booting from C, or something along those lines.

    What I need help doing: I just bought windows 8 and I want to install it on my new HDD but I want it to install on C:, sadly C: is already taken by my old HDD and I think that if I got rid of C: or changed it then I will have problems booting or something along the lines.
    So all I need doing is to get rid of old HDD and install windows on my new HDD.

    Need to get rid of this /\

    You can follow the steps in this tutorial to add the windows boot sector to your new HDD, so then it will be able to boot on its own. Please note that you should disconnect your old HDD, before doing the startup repair on the new HDD. Also, you made need to run the startup repair up to three separate times for it to work.
