    cache removal

My friend has a very powerful games machine running a Corsair ssd cache in conjunction with a 1tb hdd. He has just bought a Samsung 840 pro 512gb ssd to clone W7 to from the spinner. There is about 340 gig on the hdd including Windows on one partition. Before cloning using the Samsung Magician software I assume that he should disconnect the cache drive. Is this correct?

Oh dear 161 views so far and no answers. The W7 ult 32 which I am using now has a 250gb hdd with a Sandisk 32gb cache drive and if I wanted to clone to another hdd or reload Windows, I would clear the cache and then uninstall the Sandisk drivers before disconnecting the cache drive. I don't know if this procedure would work with a Corsair cache drive.

203 views so far with no response, my friend went ahead and cloned the hdd without removing or uninstalling the Corsair cache drive and got away with it. So he now has a SAMSUNG 840 pro 512gb and a Corsair 60gb cache drive running together and he says that everything runs mega fast and smoothly. His system is an I7 2600K overclocked with 16gb ram and a 5900 graphics card and three 27 inch monitors. He runs FSX with loads of extra scenery and other related goodies. He says that the transitions between scenery is now smooth and details are now visible which he had not noticed before. I think he is very lucky that there were no problems.
