It's the most current Hard drive driver MS has and is for a SSD or SSD. I have a Crucial SSD and a Seagte HDD and both have the identical driver.
You may be thinking Firmware which is the driver for the SSD internal controller. If you hae Magician software installed it's easy to check from within the app.
You're welcome. I don't think Samsung has issued new firmware for the 840 series drives, I have a Pro and EVO and nether have new ones.
I updated my 840 pro about about 8 months ago to the current fw. CrystalDisk lists it as DXM05B0Q.
I just checked in AS SSD and it gives the same firmware as Crystaldisk. The Samsung Magician still says that I am up to date. My drive is 128gb.
