Understanding RAID Controller Reporting
Well, this may be a bit of a longshot, but maybe you guys can help me sort out apples from bananas.
My main server runs on a SuperMicro Motherboard with an integrated LSI2008 RAID/SAS Controller. With this controller I use LSI MegaRaid Configuration Software installed in Windows, but also have the option to use a BIOS based Configuration utility. I find the latter easier to handle.
However, since I have the Windows utility installed I occasionally glance it for any error reports and alike. Most of the time all is well, but sometimes I am puzzled as to what the log says and what it means. That would be my question.
Any idea what it means when LSI MegaRaid tells me that:
Controller ID: 0 Unexpected sense: PD = -:-:6-Information unit CRC error detected, CDB = 0x28 0x00 0x0a 0xdb 0x55 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x80 0x00, Sense = 0x70 0x00 0x0b 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x0a 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x47 0x03 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00
