So a totally random time difference... even forward in time. Not an internet time server update problem.... that synchronize runs only once a week, so I don't expect a faulty timeserver (and you reset the time by synchroizing with a timeserver anyway to correct the issue).

No program in win7 resets the clock... unless done manually. Allmost sure it's a BIOS/CMOS issue. Replace CMOS battery
Actually there are some programs that can reset the clock in Win 7 & these are some private weather station programs that can be set to change the computer clock so it in synchronous with the weather stations console clock for data updating where times are fairly critical for accurate data. In all cases I know of this is not a default setting, as you have to install it when setting up the software. I do use such a weather station but I don't use the time setting feature.

try Make Windows synchronize time more often

or How to Change the Time Synchronization Interval in Windows 7

or Internet Time Synchronization Update Interval

if all else fails, try this free 3rd party resident sync tool to sync it at a time sequence of your choice:
    http://www.timesynctool.com/

i set it to resnc every 8 hrs.

There is no way to do this for the motherboard itself, so that when I am in OSX Lion... it works too?? remember this is a Hackingtosh??

    thanks
