Three quarters of a year later, but I ran into this problem with my external harddrive. Yesterday it was working fine, today it says "Local Disk", inaccessible, and Disk Management tells me the drive is RAW instead of NTFS. Ran "MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition" and sucessfully recovered the partition, with all files and folders showing up and usable as should be.

    So... THANK YOU !!!
As Jumanji says in his post, and I think you will find that little program very useful for other things besides partition work.

Nah... I read before I post...

Registered a long time ago already, just didn't recall my password or e-mail address that O registered with... tried some passwords, didn't work... So created a new account.

I'm not much of a poster. but I did want to express my thanks and let anyone who stumbles into the problem that this is a valid way to go!

I'm gonna check into the program more thoroughly... Very useful so far indeed... I am a Systems Administrator, but for this specific purpose, I didn't have a tool yet. Now I do!

    Hello all,

I'm facing the same issue: a perfectly working external 1TB usb 3.0 HD (although I might say it looked strangely slow in copying a few large files.....but I blamed windows 8.1 for this) is now not accessible as it is seen as RAW by Windows.

I downloaded MiniTool Power Recovery Free Edition and would like to use it to recover my files but mennojonker does not say how he succeeded in making the disk/partition again available. Can someone please help me out? How should I use the tool?

    Thank you
    Elisa

    Hi elisa,

    Welcome to SevenForums.

It is always better to start a new thread and explain your problem ab-initio rather than tagging on to an old thread.

From what I see you have run MiniTool Power Recovery and not Partition Recovery Wizard in Partition Wizard.

Now go ahead and start a new thread explaining your problem. Alongwith it post a screenshot of how your problem drive appears in Windows Disk Management. Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image

Download, install and run MiniTools Partition Wizard Home Edition v 8.1.1 Free download Magic Partition Manager Software, partition magic alternative, free partition magic, partition magic Windows 7 and server partition software - Partition Wizard Online

In the opening screen, click on MiniTool Partition Wizard and not on MiniTool Power Data Recovery.

Post the main screen of Partition Wizard and let us see how your problem drive looks in it.

So let me see you in a new thread with the above information.

How did you do that? I've downloaded the program and not sure what to do. It's a 32GB MicroSD card.
