Ok I just got windows 7 up and running with little or no problems, going though the steps I come to find out that one of my hard drives is not showing up. Looking though the device manager it seems that the RAID card that I'm using wasn't installed.. Again with little or no problems I got drivers for my card and restarted. Heres my problem, windows for some odd reason will not show that hard drive. My BIOS reads it but the Disk Management has nothing nor anywhere else for that matter..
Just to shed some light, I'm using a Western Digital Caviar and and Silicon RAID PCI Controller.. First, lets get this fact straight, this is NOT a Raided hard drive I'm just simply using the card for the IDE slot due to the fact that this motherboard only had the one IDE port ((Which is being used for my DVD burner)) and second this is a slave thats partitioned, I use it mostly for backup.
I'm really not sure what I'm missing here, 7 shows the the card had the correct drivers installed and the card is working but like I said earlier there are no hard drives anywhere. Formatting is out of the question because everything I had on XP is backed up on it ((no xp was not installed on it)) a friend said I might have to go and buy a 15 dollar IDE to SATA converter so I thats in the back of my mind, I have tried to un-install the windows 7 driver and install the driver that came with the card, without any luck, and well I'm just out of ideas.. Any and all help would be great because if I cant figure this out its back to XP and thats a shame because windows 7 is a keeper.
((UPDATE))
I just tried to unplug the hard drive and then plug it back in with no success
