Newbie here! 3TB Max storage on my computer?

My concern is that Dell specs state i can only run 3TB max? is this a bios limitation? I'm wanting to do a raid 0 with two 2TB HDD's for media. My SSD (OS drive) would be outside of the raid, then i would also want to have another rotating drive for backups (outside of raid). 4HDD's total with maybe ~5TB of total storage

I have a dell T5400. Specs in profile.

Also - Can i install a RAID card to overcome this supposed storage limitation? Would a 6Gbps raid card be a noticeable performance improvement with my SSD? I have the 120GB samsung evo. My motherboard only goes to 3Gbps on sata.

    Thanks!

There's an exponent of 4 beside the TB maybe that means it can support up to a max of 81tb, but I'm not to sure as I never bought a manufactured PC and tried to up the storage that much

Hmm, yeah - I saw that too. But it was just a note explaining the that 3TB = so many bytes etc...

I'm wondering if that was just the maximum hard drive size available during that time? I'm going to the store tomorrow and i just want to make sure if i buy 4-5TB of storage that it will all show in this computer.

    Thanks
