    DVD won't autostart

    I had downloaded the "AVG Rescue Disk" once in January and recently. During a recent check of either DVD the DVD will not autostart and just comes up a setting to "open folder to view files...in Windows explorer".

    See if www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/161443-autorun-inf-files-completely-block.html helps

    I believe you can find out how to unblock or set it to autorun there too.

    edit: usually there's a file autorun.inf. If you look at it in Notepad it's usually only a few lines like
    start=NyInstall.exe

    so just double click the program manually as a work-around

    Strangely enough both programs (from iso) do not have the autorun.inf files!

    Strange. And you're sure they used to start up on disc insertion? Or are they boot discs? I'm not big on AV programs. So I don't know the nitty gritty details. Much of AV is as problematic as what it solves. At least to my neanderthal philosophy. :)

    Only works on boot but must have current version to get most current definitions-no internet connection.
