SSD PCIe Express slot

Hi guys!
So just a month or two before i posted here regarding what can be done with my empty express slot for my laptop. (Studio xps 1647) . I was told that there could be two things, usb 3.0 or ssd. I have decided to go with the ssd option, but i don't know which one? Is there a compatibility thing or something?
Cpuid says my link width for PCI-Express is x16 and max supported is x16 ..
Any suggestions?
