    ATI Drivers

What happened to the 9.9 drivers ?

I installed these, which were 9.10

    EDIT: 9."9" then 9."10"

Confusing It should be 9.09 and then 9.10, can't they count.

    they are 9.10

ati/amd release drivers every month - the 9 is for 2009, the 10 for october. :)

if you still really need the 9.9s, i'm sure you can find them if you google.

Nah .. I just wanted to have the "latest" drivers and was confused by the inability to count.

It has been like that since they brought out the Catalyst Suite, as far back as the Catalyst 4.1 (there was even a 3.x),

Yep, they snuck in an extra release that year,

ATI Catalyst 5.13 Win2000|XP|MCE CCC download from Guru3D.com

ATI winds down 2005 with one final Catalyst update version 5.13.
The number 5.13 actually represents the 13th release of the year 2005. (So next months posting will be 6.1 – since it’s the first release of 2006).

Still The 9.9 and early drivers should have been numbers 9.0x to avoid confusion as they do appear to not be able to count. i.e. 9.10 is less than 9.9.

I am an ex-NVIDIA user. and going from 9.9 to 9.10 was like going backwards

    Only backwards to you.

Anyone that has used an ATI card in the last 5 years knows the first number is the year and the second is the month (more or less, 2005 was the exception and there was 13 releases).
