AHCI mode and driver boot problem
Hi there,
some time ago I switched my SATA controllers from native IDE to AHCI mode via regediting the "Start" parameters of msahci and pciide. After rebooting and swichting to AHCI support in the BIOS, Windows installed the generic AHCI drivers. Afterwards, I replaced those with AMD AHCI drivers.
Recently, I flashed my BIOS, naturally reloading CMOS default state. This of course lead to the system running in IDE mode again. The registry values have stayed the same, but my system won't boot when switching to AHCI mode again in the BIOS ("Loading Operating System... A disk read error has occured, press CTRL. + Alt. + DEL. to restart.").
What do I have to do do get my system running in AHCI mode again? I already thought about uninstalling the AMD AHCI drivers, as a brief boot information screen shows that the system is trying to use those to boot, instead of using the generic Microsoft ones. The Catalyst Installation Manager doesn't provide me with the possiblity to uninstall those though. Any help is very much appreciated!
