64bit clean install: boot mgr is missing, drives

I am trying to clean install Windows 7 64 bit from previous Vista 32 bit OS.

I have a previously perfect RAID 1 setup that seems to be recognized as C: and a data drive that is shown in disk managment as below, but does not appear in MyComputer nor is assigned a drive letter.

When initially installed I did indicate the correct drive to put Windows as Disk 1, which is the array, but as you can see below, something is not right with Boot and System on different disks?. Boot error came up with:

    File : \windows\system32\winload.exe
    Status: 0xc0000428
Info: Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file

Then boots ok from DVD only.

I have tried all the bootrec.exe / to no avail and then formatted the C: drive from Windows System Recovery for another clean install.

My second clean install has the same result. Except when boot now I get the "BootMgr is missing" error and then can only boot from DVD.

    Please help.

unplug disk 0 and reformat/reinstall Windows. It will have to put the boot files on the array.

then from then on all you need to do is make sure the array is the first boot device in the BIOS.
