On this page is a little Crucial video that explains how to use the scanner.

Use the Crucial System Scanner software to find out what type of memory is in your computer

I watched the video but there was nothing special about it. Just download and run. Which is what I did and the result was a little black box that popped up somewhere in the screen and disappeared.

Immediately after the black box (Command Prompt) a browser window should open saying it is scanning.

Did you get the browser opening?

Try on another PC. Maybe there is a problem with this PC. It works for use.

I made you a little video to show how it is supposed to work. The music is from my webradio.

Thanks for the video but it didn't work. The browser does not pop up. Could it be because I am using Windows 8?
Anyway it would it ok as long as it's 204pin and 1x4?

Or if the one I have inside is 2x2 RAM, then I probably would have to by 2x8 RAM to update? http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...04+ram&_sop=15 Hmm.. but then that's like $90... is it worth spending $90 to upgrade only upto 8GB?
I think I really bought the wrong laptop. Should have spent a little extra that goes up to 16gb...

If I bought this 6gb HP for $300 I could have saved $200 if I didn't buy the black warranty and had 2gb more than 4gb that i have now. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/refurbis...specifications

I found Toshiba that goes up to 16gb, I guess that must be the cheapest one that does go up to 16gb. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/satellit...specifications
    Should have bought this one.

This $500 refurbished Toshiba also goes upto 16gb http://www.bestbuy.com/site/refurbis...specifications

This $530 Lenovo is probably the best deal with i5 processor and expandable up to 16gb http://www.bestbuy.com/site/17-3-lap...specifications
