USB mouse slower than touchpad's mouse

    Hi

I have been posting to so many forums. The thing is, I can't format my machine, it belongs to my company and I have already requested it to be reimaged and this is the 3rd time. I ran the dell diagnostic test, and I still can't find any error and that means I can't get Dell to replace my motherboard..although I think something is wrong with my USB.

Its just that I notice that the windows desktop icon, or any application seems to open faster when I use the touchpad to double click. I actually just tap twice on the touchpad. This is without the USB mouse connected.
However, when I connect to the USB mouse, all windows apps, icons opens slowly. It kinda like take longer and the notebook freezes for 1 - 2 second..Its not smooth. I have tried everything..every single thing..reinstalling the drivers..and whatever..and no error code...with dell diagnostic..how am I gonna get them to change the usb ports..when there are no errors..

    Please help

    Hi cally0611, Welcome to Sevenforums.

Have you tried the mouse on any other machine? Is the performance same on the other machine as well? does the mouse makes touchpad slow if plugged in any USB port?
    Wheeww...lot of questions

You have updated the USB drivers. Try to update the drivers for USB mouse and check.

    Keep us posted

Have you tried the mouse on any other machine? - Yes, definitely not the mouse, I have even tried using different mouse on this notebook and all yield the same slowness...

Is the performance same on the other machine as well? - No,

Does the mouse makes touchpad slow if plugged in any USB port? - Yes..I have 3 usb ports, and if I try in either one port, it makes it slow.

You have updated the USB drivers. Try to update the drivers for USB mouse and check.- Oh,I thought it was auto installed, I checked in device manager and its okay. Should I try downloading from the mouse manufacturer..?

    Hi Archer

The mouse is a dell mouse, and when I plugged it in, the driver is auto installed, and under the device manager it appears as HID-compliant device. That should be it right.

I am still facing the lag..especially when I click on something new. Like I open Microsoft Word, and start typing. and when I want to insert a table, it lags..for a while..then when I click to insert another table, that works fine..

    Its strange...

Run a complete virus scan with your antivirus. Run Malware bytes to scan for any malwares.
