RAM 8GB (3GB Usable)

    RAM 8GB (3GB Usable)


    I have a computer with windows 7 Ultimate x32 with as you can see on the title has 8GB of which 3gb is usable , I have looked on different thread but none of their tips helped me.

    What is the actual question or problem you have though? You dont specify in this post what the issue(s) are/is?

    well I have a memory stick with 8GB but in the properties of the computer it says that only 3GB are usable and I am wondering how I can be to use all the 8GBs

    There we go; now; I believe you can try to do a format of the memory stick and hopefully it will allow you to use the full amount of memory. If it doesnt its probably because there are files on the stick that may be write protected possibly.

    well then how do I format the memory stick?


    I found a thread about something called Resource Monitor where it says that 5GBs was "Hardware Reserved".

    With Windows X86 (32 bit) it is only capable of using 3.5 GB of ram address space. 64 Bit Windows is capable of using all 8 GB.
