i have everything on my hdd and i want to move my os onto my ssd for better performance but how will i do that?
and also will my files be deleted and/or will i have t re-install all my programs/
nope. if you do that however, you have to make sure that the used data on the HDD does not exceed the free space on the SSD. IE if you used 100GB on the HDD, the SSD has to be bigger then 100GB.
what i did was uninstall EVERYTHING that did not need to be on the ssd. programs, games, videos, downloads etc. then cloned to the SSD. then formatted the HDD and set the HDD to my storage drive. i then just re downloaded everything back to the HDD. worked perfectly.
also make sure you set bios to AHCI and set windows to use trim via regedit.

But but but I casnt uninstall everything? And like what? Can I move just my os? And I have no externel drive that would hold my hdd. Is there anyway to just move the os?
No. Its the whole HDD. Just uninstall programs and games and such. You can use ur current HDD as a storage and ssd as boot

a clone is exactly what it means. its an exact copy. just create a backup of your hdd before you do it. ive cloned multiple times using different programs and havent had an issue
With any operation like that the first priority is to backup your data. And since you most likely will need to copy your data back to the HDD after successful transfer of the OS, an external disk is essential.
In most cases the whole OS plus the user data does not fit on the SSD. Therefore the user data is kept on the HDD. But for that you have to first split data and OS with the help of an external disk.
