    Vote now! New monitor :)

Right so as I have come to the realisation that buying £20 monitors of ebay break after a few months and I obtained money for Christmas I was thinking why not splash a bit on a monitor!
    So I was wondering:
what monitors do you personally use?
Is there any monitors for around £80-100 you would recommend if I wanted to buy an headset as-well ?
Is there any monitors for £110-165 you would recommend if I were to spent a bulk of it on a monitor?

Thanks and have a great Christmas! -Charlie

I would be the worst person to ask when it comes to buying monitors with such a low budget. For me, you should never buy a cheap monitor. All you are going to do is buy crap. You get what you pay for. A monitor is something you look at every single time you use the computer, buy a crappy monitor that has horrible color shifting or flicking your eyes are going to strain and give you headaches.

This is why I only buy professional grade monitors, you pay a premium but you get superb quality, like "no-dead-pixel" guarantees and full warranties. Plus the panel is of higher quality with much better color accuracy, and balanced performance.

But again, I'm the worst person to ask, seeing as I spent $1,500 getting my monitor.

Go to a specialist computer shop, that is, one that sells computers & associated gear only & have a look at some of the monitors they should have on display. Also ask the staff what they use & find out about prices, warranty etc.. It does also depend on what you normally use your computer for, so if you play a lot of computer games then get a monitor that gives the best results in your price range.

I am using 2 Philips 226V 21.5" LED monitors, which I am quite happy with.

Viewsonic and ASUS have affordable, quality flat screen led monitors. My 23" VS is 6 years old and has been great, I have a 1 year old 27" VS and a 3 month old 23" ASUS, both seem fine. All run off hdmi. These have built in speakers that are usable but not great sound. I've never experienced bad pixels or screen problems of any kind. I never turn the monitors off, they are set to go to a blank screen after 30 minutes. I'm sure Samsung and others have good monitors also.

anything LED and by ASUS gets my vote. I cant use large monitors, they give me motion sickness.. my posh samsung 28" monitor is now attached to my workshop pc, as for gaming it made me feel ill.
Instead i have 2 22" ASUS LED monitors for gaming.

Hey all thanks for the responses and replies I did alot of looking around last night and I found LG 23EA63V 23" IPS LED LCD HDMI Monitor | Ebuyer.com
on sale and I loved the looks and it's by a decent brand so I researched it and from what I can tell it's one of the better monitors I can buy from that price point and has some amazing aesthetics in my opinion the main issue with it being that the stand is of a poor quality but that doesn't bother me at all since I can just mount it to the wall.

TLDR: I brought a LG 23EA63V 23" IPS LED LCD HDMI Monitor
