In BIOS, usually on the EXIT TAB, there will be an option to "Reload Optimized Defaults", or "Reset Defaults". Do that, SAVE & EXIT. Let the laptop reboot.
This should have already been done when you did that RESET procedure I talked about a few pages back.
As far as AHCI is concerned, not all laptops will have this functionality, and not all BIOS have the setting in the same place. But if you do have it, it will be in the line that deals with the SATA Controller.
Keep in mind that this would have nothing to do with solving your problem. It only applies to the Windows installation.
