Reboot the pc, then put the card back in and try again, it happens. Go into the camera without the card in, do you still see any pictures on the camera ?

But I still can't see my pics on the pc. Plus, now I've managed to add a program called, Windows Easy Transfer which isn't listed in the Control Panel's list of programs and now I don't know how to remove it. Is there a Chat Forum or something we can use, if you have the time?

I really don't understand what is going on here. If you have a standard SD card, Sandisk or other, from a Canon camera, there should be at least 1 folder on the card. You have to open that folder and look for the DCIM folder. The pics should be in there.

You could save a lot of time if you could find your USB cable and connect the camera directly to the PC. That way you could get all your photos off the card.

Then we can deal with formatting the card so it can be seen by the card reader in Windows.

THAT'S the name of the folder the pics USED TO show up in, "DCIM". But that folder no longer appears when I plug the memory card into the pc.

I will buy another usb cable if that will solve the problem but I have my doubts. Because IT USED to work with just the memory card. So, the bottom line is, why doesn't it work now?

Rather than another cable I would get another SD card. I think there is something wrong with either the card or the camera.

As a last check see whether this tiny little switch on the side of the card is not set to 'Lock". If yes unlock it and try again. That little switch could have eaily be moved during all the maneuvers.

It was not set to lock. So, thank you for all your help, and I guess I'll go shopping.

    Bye for now
