Are you saying that the plastic connector on the end of the Power Button cable is too big to fit on the motherboard block?
Or that the cable is too short?

IF you're talking about the cable that supplies most of the power from the power supply to the motherboard, the connector comes in two varieties -- 20-pin and 24-pin. Some power supply cables have the extra 4-pin part of the connector as removable so you can use that power supply with motherboards with either connector.

If your connector is fixed at 24-pin and your motherboard is 20-pin, then the power supply will not work -- as is. You might be able to find a 24-to-20 pin adapter, but I have not tried using any of those.

best option is to buy a standard mobo power switch connector and solder it onto your current lead. theres no + or - to worry about in this case. as all a momentary switch does is briefly make a full connection.

for now youve 2 options 1) plug the rest switch into the power switch pins. this will do the same job as the power one.
or 2) everytime you want to turn on the pc use a screw driver to touch the 2 pins on the mobo this will again do the same job.

Like badger said, a power connector is just 2 pins.
So what you are looking at is a combo connector that probably combines the PWR, RESET, and (maybe) SPEAKER wires into one block. I'm guessing it's an older case.

Do yo see any way to separate smaller blocks from that larger block?

If you have a manual for the case on the a6244n system that shows the System Panel Connections then we can be more help. But without that it is all generic.

Here are the connections for the motherboard:

You may need to clip the wires and attach then to the correct leads to use that case (if the blocks do not detach). Not a job for an amateur. You will first need to identify each wire. Then you need to get some typical connectors (used) to splice onto the wires.

And these are the modern connecters used by most cases and motherboards today:

asus also produce a quick q (I think thats its name) which is a little thing you plug all the leads into and then plug it directly onto the mobo. its designed for people who take their mobo out regularly. theyre normally shipped with their higher end mobos.
