Why are my DVD drives not listed as 'D' & 'E'

Maybe I'm a little out of the loop...but I thought systems always listed DVD drives as 'D' & 'E' after the C: drive ?

Attached jpg shows a split in drive letter assignments. I have Partition Magic but this only shows up the HDDs/SSD so I can't reset the letters there. Is there a way in Win 7 Pro 64bit to reassign drive letters ? I looked thru Disk Management but didn't see an option to reassign drive letter's ?

Would like to get my 2 DVD drives back as 'D' & 'E'

    Thanks...TiminAz

As mentioned, not necessarily. The system will take whatever next letter is available.

In my case, I have my internal hard drive partitioned into (C: ) and (D: ). My physical optical drive is now (E: ) and my 2 PowerISO virtual optical drives are (F: ) and (G: ) respectively.

Yes there is. Right-click on the CD-ROM drive as shown below:

Thanks guys...I found the DVDs at the bottom of the page a little while after my post...was just surprised they were not in EASEUS or Partition Magic disk management...unless of course I goofed in looking there too ?

Any way all is well now...p.s....Samsung drive was mislabeled by me...not USB but an SSD...
